We enjoyed our stay at Montelopio. The staff were excellent and prepared first class meals. The meals were traditional Tuscan and it was nice just to come back at the end of a day and not have to look for a restaurant. The building is as it was described. The location is excellent and near all the great places to visit in Tuscany. As we spoke no Italian it was a little difficult to communicate with some of the staff. The caretaker spoke several languages so we communicated through him. It was a vacation of a lifetime. We had a great time.
Both Casa Fiora and Easy Reserve were absolutely excellent and we would highly recommend both.
Firstly, Easy Reserve is easy to do because you can pay online with a credit card. We have used other companies in the past where we had to do a bank transfer, which is messy and time consuming. This was done in 2 minutes from my desk. Wonderful service. Then it was followed up by personal emails from Lucy and Lucia, who were both incredibly helpful. Excellent service and I would definitely use them again.
Casa Fiora is magnificent!! It exceeds the photos on the website. It is beautifully decorated with high quality antiques and an attention to detail. It didn't feel like a rental at all. The owner obviously loves it and pays so much attention to all of the little details in the decorating and gardening. It felt like someone's much loved and cared-for home. It was well-kitted out and had everything we could wish for. The pool is wonderful! I had worried about it being unheated, as many are in Tuscany it seems, but I needn't have worried - it was the perfect temperature as the hot Italian weather heats it. If you were heating it, you would have set it to exactly that temperature. It was perfect! It is lightly salted, which is much, much nicer than chlorine. We were over the moon with it and everything in the house. There are 3 beds and 3 bathrooms, 2 of which have showers and the other has a bathtub with handheld shower. More than enough for the number of rooms. They are not in the bedrooms as ensuites, which means everyone can share them, which is very nice. The kitchen is amply supplied too.
The location is absolutely perfect! It is 20 minutes to Lucca, about 35 to Pisa, less than an hour to Florence and an hour to Viareggio and Cinque Terre. It is up a winding road into the mountains, so you have a gorgeous view of the hills and you can see right down to Lucca. The pool has the most wonderful view of Lucca in the distance.
Nicoletta comes in to clean the house 3 times (mon/wed/fri). She is lovely!!! She will help if you need anything, and she even gives you a little local mobile phone in case you want to ring her. There is wifi there too.
One interesting thing. The notes said we needed to give the a 750 Euro deposit in cash upon arrival. Nicoletta was surprised at this and said we didn't need to. I'm not sure who is right, but hopefully she is right as it was annoying carrying around the cash during our pre-villa holidays.
We had no complaints at all about anything and would highly recommend it. The villa was perfect for us. We hope you enjoy it too!

Better than "excellent", more precisely our experience was extraordinary.....in every way. I would return to Villa Il Doccio if at all possible, on another visit. Everyone, really everyone, in my family of 12 from ages 70 years (me) to 10 months (grandbaby Holiis) celebrated this choice of vacation locations. Irene,our host, made us feel as if we were her special and only guests. The dinner she and her brother Eduardo prepared for us from scratch, complete with cooking lessons for the kids, was memorable. Enjoying this dinner, prepared in part by us, will be a etched in our collective minds forever....sitting at the long table on the veranda, under the grapevines....fantastic. The renewed rustic house with 4 separate living quarters was even better than described, comfortable and charming. The pool area was extravagant in space and was used daily and enjoyed by all of us. The kids had a ball. I could not have wished for anytihing better or different.
On a personal side note, I have to extend my special thanks to Irene, who when she learned during our dinner that my wife's brother was taken seriously ill back in the USA, she volunteered to drive with me back and forth to the Rome airport that following morning to put my wife on the next plane back to be with her brother. Her kindness and much appreciated help brings a tear to my eye.

The villa is more charming in person than in the pictures. It was full of Italian character yet completely up-to-date with modern bathrooms and amenities. The weather was unseasonably hot when we visited in the summer, but the air conditioning and pool made it all comfortable.
The pool area is particularly lovely and was a delight to return to after touring every day. The pool water was the perfect temperature: cool enough to be refreshing but not uncomfortably chilly. One half of the grassy area surrounding the pool is shaded while the other half is sunny, allowing our group to chose the spot of their liking.
The covered outdoor dining space was so inviting we ended up eating our meals at home every night. The large table had no trouble accommodated our group of 11.
The only thing I would change is that the mattresses are very firm and all the beds use single-size mattresses. (In some rooms the mattresses are attached to act as a one two-person bed but with a seam in the middle.) Some people might prefer the extra firm mattresses since that's matter of taste.
Ein wahres Bijou. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail, geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Küche ist komplett eingerichtet, mit allem, was das Herz begehrt. Alles in Topzustand und absolut sauber! Unsere Ansprechpartnerin vor Ort ist ein wahrer Schatz!
Die reservierten Holzliegen und Sonnenschirme garantieren entspannte Ferien. Gepflegter Pool. Das Haus ist ruhig gelegen. Straße kaum hörbar.
Nettes, voll eingerichtetes Haus mit Außengrill, großes und schönes Grundstück. Störend waren die vielen Ameisen und Wespen. Schöner Ausblick ins Chianti. Ein Nachbar, nach drei Seiten hin offen (keine Einzäunung). Sehr laut durch die tieferliegende Durchzugsstraße. Objekt besticht durch die Nähe zu Siena und die gute Erreichbarkeit zu verschiedenen Ausflugszielen.
Ein sehr gepflegtes Anwesen. Das Objekt ist perfekt für eine kleine Familie die einen ruhigen Anlaufpunkt in der Maremma sucht abseits der Hotspots. Betreuung vor Ort war unkompliziert und sehr angenehm. Ausstattung Küche vollkommen angemessen, Schlafzimmer sehr sauber und gute Matratzen ;-). Das Bad ist sauber und funktionell (könnte ein wenig größer sein, hat aber als Pluspunkt ein Fenster!)
Die Lage ist traumhaft schön mit einem sehr schönen Blick über die Landschaft nach Montespertoli. Die Außenanlage ist sehr gepflegt und der Pool ist sehr schön und groß. Die Eigentümer und auch die Verwalter sind sehr sehr nett und total hilfsbereit. Hierfür gibt es volle 5 Punkte. Es wird nur italienisch gesprochen. Der Eigentümer (soweit vor Ort) kann auch etwas Englisch. Die Wohnung ist gut. Es fehlt ein wenig Stauraum in der Küche. Die Schlafzimmer sind großzügig und gut. Die Badezimmer sind klein aber auch o.k.. Das Wetter war genial, so dass man sich die meiste Zeit draußen aufgehalten hat. Die Anlage ist auf jeden Fall sehr zu empfehlen.
Wir haben eine wunderschöne Woche in der Ferienwohnung Ortensia verbracht. Die Wohnung ist sehr sauber und sehr schön eingerichtet. Es ist so gemacht wie man sich den toskanischen Stil vorstellt. Teracottafarbene Fliesen im Bad. Holz an der Decke und Blumenbilder an den Wänden. Die Terrasse und der Garten sind traumhaft und was in der Beschreibung gar nicht erwähnt wird, ist der Ausblick auf San Gimignano. Der ist sensationell. Sonnenuntergang mit Blick auf die Türme. Sooo schön.
Aber wenn man dort Urlaub macht, sollte man eine Schere mitbringen, einen Vorlegelöffel oder sonst was um das Essen aus dem Topf zu kriegen und Kopfkissen :-) Die in der Wohnung vorhandenen waren uns zu hart. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und haben uns ihre Telefonnummer gegeben falls was ist.
San Gimignano ist in einer Viertelstunde über einen Feldweg zu erreichen. Der geht zwar bergauf bergab ist aber auch mit Buggy, Kinderwagen oder ähnlichem befahrbar. Der Supermarkt ist auch ganz nah, da sind wir aber eh immer mit dem Auto hingefahren.
