Our car broke down in Switzerland en route to the Villa Fabbroni with the end result we turned up, by taxi, at 2.30 a.m. having got lost trying to find our way firstly to San Pollo and then to the Villa. The instructions told us that we were to turn left at the church onto a non-asphalted road and after 500 m we would find the Villa. After 2 km of driving thus up the road our taxi driver thought it was a mistake and turned back to the church. Back at the church we were lucky enough to bump into a neighbour returning late from a party. It was the correct road– so back we went along the steep, hair-pin road and past all the shadowy olive trees growing along the side of the dusty track. When we finally saw the lights of the Villa we were very relieved. It felt like we had arrived at the end of the world.
Not quite the end of the world but when seen in day-light the Villa is set amongst the most stunning Tuscan country-side surrounded by thick, lush woods and olive groves. With it being so isolated it is little wonder that the Villa Fabbroni was the favoured hunting spot of Italy’s nobility and a place to bring a beautiful mistress. The views are quite spectacular and the setting peaceful and relaxing. Added to all of this is the wonderful hospitality of Sergio and Stefano who were most gracious about having to stay awake until the early hours of the morning to let a bedraggled family from Belgium in. Throughout our two week stay both Sergio and Stefano were more than helpful.
The restaurant attached to the Villa is every bit as good as other reviewers say it is. An authentic four-course meal over-looking the hills as the sun sets is definitely a wonderful holiday experience. The apartments were spacious and comfortable. The Villa is also very well located in terms of day-trips to Florence, Sienna, San Gimignano and Moterregione. In spite of the rather unfortunate start to our holiday we had a wonderful break and can highly recommend a stay there.Zou u deze woning aanbevelen aan een vriend? Ja

I csn not say enough great things about our stay in the Botto e Bruno apartment in Montalcino. This place is a little gem! Andrea and Lisa Jane are wonderful, helpful hosts. The apartment was beautiful and very comfortable. We appreciated the initial breakfast supplies as well. The pool, view, garden and location are all fantastic. We will definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a wonderful place to stay in Tuscany! 4 stars!!!!

Villa Alex is perfectly situated for those who just wish to kick back and relax in the lovely garden and pool, or for those who want to explore the surrounding Tuscan delights. Its proximity to Florence and surrounding outlet malls makes it a great base to explore the city, but also stock up on luxury designer gear at discount prices.
The high spec, well equipped modern interior of the villa makes it stand out from other villas in this category, whilst the traditional stone exterior makes it blend well into the surrounding Tuscan hills. The well-kept gardens only add to the perfect setting.
The fact that the villa stands on a hill overlooking Florence means that not only do you enjoy stunning views of the city (including the Duomo), but also provides a slight breeze which makes the summer temperatures a little more bearable.
The only disadvantage is if you have very young children, it is difficult for them to get out of the pool on their own as there are not steps. Also the interior stairs leading up to the first floor are fully open with no bannister, which can be slightly worrying with small children.
Apart from these minor drawbacks, the villa was perfect for a family and inside offered a welcome cool retreat in the Tuscan heat of the afternoon sun.

Property is clearly due for a major! renovation. Blinds are broken, fridge is terribly old, interior is dark and smelly. Many items in the rooms are broken and not maintained. We felt we were out camping... Location is beautiful, owner doesn't speak English but friendly.
[counter comment from the house managers - English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] We spoke with the owner. He told us he has already replaced the fridge and will change the broken items in the house.
As for the lighting, the house is bound by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and therefore it's not possible to do mayor restorations but we asked the owner to add lamps or enhance the existing ones.
