Very nice 2-bedroom apartment for 4 people in a traditional Provencal townhouse in Saint Raphael in the Var, France. The house is 250 years old but totaly renovated in 2001 and the kitchen has been renovated again in 2014. In 2014 the apartment has also got climatisation. There are no opposite neighbors but a beautiful view over the rooftops to the mountains. Heating is by electric radiators and climatisation.
Distances: The apartment is located in the old town of Saint Raphael in a pedestrian street next to the old church. The church used today for concerts , cultural events, festivals and museum.
The historical center is an area without traffic . Around the corner is the city's largest and completely renovated market hall with a wide range of food and nearby are restaurants, cafes and specialty shops .
Immediately , outside the old town, you will find several supermarkets and a few more market halls including a fish market .
The apartment is a 7- minute walk from the beach , the harbor and seafront and a 5 minute walk to the railway and busstation. The beach is clean , sandy beach and extremely child-friendly with slightly decreasing water depth. There are lifeguards and the beachis cleaned every morning in high season. There is also a large water park in the neighbor-town Frejus. The seafront is full of life and there are night market every night in July / August, There are many restaurants , bars, shows and attractions for all ages. The old town and the center of Frejus is more calm.
There is a large market every Sunday at the sea front . There are smaller markets Tuesdays and Fridays on the seafront by the boule pitch.
Saint Raphael is surrounded by two major mountains : Esterel and Les Maurees . Both areas provide opportunity for hiking or biking in the untouched nature .
In the more distant neighborhoods feature Cannes, Saint Tropez (water tram ride from Saint Raphael ) , Gorges de Verdon , Nice, Marseille and lots of additional attractions and opportunities that can be seen on the tourist office website . Much of this can in fact be reached by train directly from Saint Raphael , which is part of the French TGV system
At guests disposal: Washing machine, air condition and there is internet in the apartment through time-limited subscription : In the apartment is a router ( clé ) which is intended for short-term subscriptions. Such subscription costs 20 euros for a month/100 gbit . The subscription / sim card can be bought from Orange in the large square opposite the railway station ( Place P. Coullet ) , bring passport and papers from Orange.
