In magnificent and quiet surroundings in Western Lofoten, lies this
charming holiday cottage 12 km west of Leknes. Here you have a panoramic
view of steep mountains, idyllic sandy beaches and the mighty Nordic Sea
that have shaped this landscape.
When the midnight sun shines during
long spring and summer nights, you might end up sitting all night at the
terrace enjoying this spectacular view. The house lies on a hill
surrounded by easy hiking trails along the sea and in the mountains.
From the top, you have the best lookout points towards Æsholman, a group
of islands that was abandoned after a dramatic storm. The beautiful
beach Haukelandsstranden lies right by the house, and is the most
popular beach on hot summer days.
The house owner can help out with car
rental. This place is a great starting point for day excursions around
Lofoten. 12 km to the town Leknes, where you will find shops and
restaurants. Visit the small town Vikten and its Glasblower Centre. See
the many fishing villages along the southern shores of Lofoten,
surrounded by high and ragged mountains. Also visit Kabelvåg to the
north, where you can have a close up experience with the aquarium fish.
