Havukka is een houten cottage uit 1975, gerenoveerd in 1999, gelegen 13 km ten noorden van Mikkeli in het hart van Finland. Het huis staat op een bosrijke helling aan de oever van het afgelegen meer Ekslampi, op slechts 40 m afstand. De ligging biedt uitzonderlijke privacy: slechts één ander huisje deelt dezelfde oeverlijn en blijft volledig aan het zicht onttrokken. Het interieur is helder en ingericht in een aangenaam retro-romantische stijl. De cottage biedt plaats aan 2 tot 4 gasten.
Het woongedeelte beschikt over een zithoek met een tweepersoonsbed (bestaande uit 2 eenpersoonsbedden op één matras, met aparte matrassen op aanvraag beschikbaar), een slaapbank voor 1 tot 2 personen, een eettafel voor 4 en een open haard. De keuken is voorzien van koud en warm water en een koelkast met vriesvak, maar beschikt niet over een vaatwasser. Een badkamer met toilet en douche is aanwezig. Voor extra slaapplaatsen biedt een zomerhuisje uit 1975 twee bedden van 90x200 cm; deze ruimte is uitsluitend beschikbaar van juni tot augustus.
Buitenruimtes
De buitenruimtes zijn uitgebreid en nauw verbonden met het omringende natuurlandschap. Een groot overdekt terras biedt ruimte voor barbecueën en ontspannen avondgezelschappen. Op de oever van het meer Ekslampi staat een privéroeiboot ter beschikking van gasten; het meer staat bekend om zijn snoek- en baarsvisserij.
De strandsauna meet 8 m² en dateert uit 1975; zij bevindt zich op slechts 5 m van het water en is voorzien van een houtkachel met stooktank, elektrische verlichting en een eigen terras met trappen naar de sauna en het strand. Het meer heeft een harde bodem met diepe modder, bereikt een diepte van 14 m in het centrum en ongeveer 3 m aan het einde van de steiger, wat het meest geschikt maakt voor sterke zwemmers. Gasten kunnen na een sauna direct in het koele meer duiken.
Naast de strandsauna staat een klein en sfeervol grillhuis, uitgerust met een open haard, een houtkachel en een houtskoolbarbecue. Deze ruimte is ideaal voor het bereiden van diverse gerechten, het bakken van worstjes of het zetten van traditionele roetpankoffie boven een open vuur, allemaal beschermd tegen regen. Het grillhuis beschikt over een terras en een elektrisch stopcontact. Het terrein is verder voorzien van een houtschuur en een buitentoilet.
Praktische informatie
De cottage biedt verwarming via de open haard in de woonkamer en de houtkachel van de strandsauna; het zomerhuisje is voorzien van elektriciteit voor aanvullende verwarming indien nodig. Het zomerhuisje met 2 bedden is uitsluitend beschikbaar van juni tot augustus. Aparte matrassen voor het tweepersoonsbed in de hoofdcottage kunnen op aanvraag van tevoren worden geregeld.

Mikkeli, een levendige stad in de regio Zuid-Savo, ligt op 13 km afstand en biedt gasten toegang tot een volledig aanbod van stedelijke voorzieningen, restaurants, winkels en lokale diensten. De stad beschikt over culturele en historische attracties die het rijke erfgoed van de regio weerspiegelen. The cottage has a spacious covered terrace with space to spend a summer day or sit in the evening. There is a campfire site on the beach, where you can enjoy the twilight of a summer evening in the glow of a campfire.
Location 72 km northeast of Jyväskylä, 30 m to the beach (Matkuslampi), log cabin (1973), which was completely renovated in 2024. The living room has a sofa bed (140 x 200 cm bed). Double bed in the bedroom. In the living room there is a fireplace, a kitchenette and a dining set for four. The cottage has a bathroom with a shower and an electric toilet.
There is a wood-heated sauna on the beach. In connection with the sauna, there is a small dressing room and a shower. It is a short distance from the sauna to the lake along the terrace. The beach is a quickly deepening mud beach. You can easily swim from your own pier. A rowing boat is available at the cottage.
There is a separate small sleeping hut in the yard with one place to sleep. Sleeping hut´s bed is an alternative bed. However, the maximum number of people allowed in the cabin is 4 people.
