The communication with the host was poor. There was no washing machine available to us. The property was not clean. It was not explained in the description that you had to walk through bedrooms to get to communal rooms. The wifi situation was horrible. However the town was lovely and had great public transportation. Would recommend visiting Meta, just don't stay here.
Nice villa with special flair. Without the big terrace outside, the kitchen inside the house would have been too small, but it was okay when only two people were in the kitchen at the same time. Doors and some of the inventory was not well treated and needs replacement. Next to the villa there was a dog by himself barking all night long which was not nice and kept us awake many hours during the night. The outside terrace is beautiful and we had great hours with our friends there while the wooden Pizza oven made nice dinner for all of us. Without this it wouldn't have been so nice. Pool area is very nice also and a gentleman came every morning to clean up the outside area. Nice house but needs upgrades inside, especially the room doors.
Geweldige locatie en super gastvrije en vriendelijke familie. Qua ligging om dagtripjes te ondernemen ideaal, aangezien alles binnen een uur ongeveer te bereiken is (Lucca, Pisa, Livorno, Florence, Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, maar ook kleinere plaatsjes in de omgeving zijn de moeite waard). Tweemaal per week kookt de familie voor de gasten (pizza-avond en toscaans diner), hetgeen echt de moeite waard is. Hierdoor direct contact met andere gasten in het appartementen complex.
De ligging is buitenaf op een heuvel waardoor rust echt aanwezig is. In september was het zwembad water al wat frisser, maar ook de moeite waard om een duik in te nemen.
De familie is erg vriendelijk en gastvrij, helpen je bij vragen en spreken diverse talen.
Zeker de intentie om nog weer terug te komen.

As a place to go for a daytrip, everything is within reach of an hour (Lucca, Pisa, Livorno, Florence, Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, but also smaller places in the area are worthwhile). Twice a week the family cooks for the guests (pizza evening and Tuscan dinner), which is really worth it. This allows direct contact with other guests in the residence.
The location is outside on a hill which makes for a real rest. In September the pool water was a little bit fresher but also worth a dip.
The family is very friendly and welcoming, helping you with questions and speaking different languages.
Certainly the intention to come back again.
The apartment is difficult to access. It was not especially clean. Many things needed repair - door handles etc. The kitchen area is badly laid out and difficult to use. The fridge had not been defrosted for years and therefore did not function well. There was 6-year old food in one of the cupboards. The owner does not seem to be very interested in his guests - he took 3 hours to react when informed that there was no electricity after a storm. The access road as given in the instructions is atrocious.
Villa Elisa is far more beautiful than these pictures suggest - seriously, they really undersell just how lovely it is! It is spacious, pretty and has great amenities. The pool area and balconies are a nice touch - the perfect places to relax. The views across the Tuscan countryside are also incredible and Elisa was a joy to work with in organising details of our stay. The property is in a quiet spot, a five minute walk from the town of Scarperia, which has a supermarket, pharmacy, some little attractions, shops and restaurants. Not the most rocking town in the world but pretty and historic. It is a great base for exploring Tuscany and is close to the famous race tracks of Mugello, the famous Medici Villa Demidoff (now a park), Lake Bilancino and the Barberino Designer Outlet.
I will say, however, that you are in the Tuscan countryside so you should expect bugs and my father and I were eaten alive by mosquitoes. This is not the fault of the owners but something you should definitely prepare for - bring repellent and antihistamines. Also, there aren't a lot of sockets that can handle laptops or electrical items bigger than lamps or phone chargers, this is a little irritating but a minor complaint within the grand scheme of how lovely this villa is.
The house is fantastic but needs continuisly caring that is not done. The cleaning overall could be better. Change broken lightbulbs, control how doors are working/sounding.
The kitchen is in poor order. Glases and pocelin is like from a fleemarket. Knives are not sharped. The dishwasher needed desaltning, we did that. We asked for 15 glases for white resp red wine, we had no for answer.
Villa Senaia was a beautiful villa! Everything about it was perfect! The owner Giuseppe, his wife Laura and their two babies were so sweet and the perfect host! You will not want to leave! Made reservations for next year before we left!
The villa was lovely and each of the 5 bedrooms and baths were charming and supplied with luxury linens and toiletries. The kitchen was well equipped and the gathering areas, terrace and pool most attractive and well maintained. Caterina, the house manager, came by every day and took us grocery shopping twice since the COOPs( grocery stores) were hidden away frequently without parking nearby. Mid week she and her crew changed out all the linens and made sure we had what we needed. On arrival she had orange juice and Prosecco at hand to welcome us. She was a font of all information including helping us find CNN on the TV. We spent our days traveling easily to Siena, Florence, Radda, Greve, and San Giminango. The grounds of the villa were fragrant with lavender and rosemary and there were pots of thyme and basil for our culinary needs. The tiny town of Vertine was quaintly charming and the nearby town of Gaiole had good shopping for wine, cheese and meat. While there were only 5 of us the house would have been just as suitable for 5 couples. The five ladies from America had a wonderful week.
