Our party of 8 stayed at Torre del Cielo from 12 Sep to 19 Sep 2009. The wesbite photos cannot possibly show the charm of this villa. The grounds have multiple seating areas, 2 for dining & others for sitting or strolling. The landscaping is magnificent as is the inground pool. The views from the pool & gardens areas are breathtaking. The Apennine Mountains can be see in the distance as well as the small villages nearby. The night sky has so many stars unable to be seen from any urban or suburban area. Ripoli was a very small town but the nearby residents were so friendly, even with a language barrier. If you rent a car, be sure to visit the small towns, they are charming. The rooms in the villa are terrific. Each bedroom & bath with shower was comfortable & very roomy & clean. The common areas had pleanty of seating & the dining room easily accomodated all 8 of us. The kitchen has all necessary items for cooking/eating. Our host/owner (Signore Rosado Rosadi) was most helpful & very kind. He speaks English very well & is very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. He was a gracious host. Also, the freezer had ice cube trays (for any Americans interested)---believe me, it is not easy to find them in many places! Signore Rosadi had even stocked some staple food items for our arrival. The washing machine worked fine & we hung our clothes on drying racks to dry. An ironing board & iron are also in the laundry room. We would rate this as a Five Star place to stay (the highest rating in America). We would highly recommend this villa to anyone thinking of staying in this area. It was well worth the money & the fun we had was priceless & the memories endless...

Podere Val di Gallo is a very nice and very neat property. It is well equipped with a very nice pool, a good kitchen, a barbecue and lots of places to sit all around the property.
The view from the terrace is absolutely amazing. You are surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.
It´s a perfect place to relax!!! The owners Marcello and Marisa are very hospitable and helpful.
Furtheron Poggibonsi, the town nearby the property is easily to arrive and offers all important facilities like supermarkets etc.
Val di Gallo is very good located, so it is very easy to reach all important places of tuscany and chianti like Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, Castellina, Radda or Greve in about one hour.
We enjoyed our visit at Val di Gallo very much and would always decide to go there again.

We spent one week in Montescalari and had a most pleasant and enjoyable week. we were two older couples. the house was clean, nicely appointed and located in Tuscan beauty with good walks, climbs and areas of relaxation. The surrounding attractions were easily accessible by train from Figline which we used. Also, Figline was good for shopping and restaurants.
A very clean property, with excellent grounds well presented. View from the grounds is beautiful, could sit and sunbathe all day. The apartment is attached to the main house and another rental property, and you can hear some family noise, but nothing intrusive.Much quieter than a hotel. Although basic, the apartment is well equipped - even a hairdryer in the bedroom. Excellent hot water and heating if needed. We plan to return someday with friends.

This villa is beautiful! It sits up on a hill with gorgeous views. When you turn into the long driveway there is a long line of Cypress trees on both sides lining the drive. We mostly lived in the back room which has glass on 3 sides. The inside is very clean, lots of windows & has 3 bathrooms. It has a lot of personal items which make it a home, as opposed to the usual rental properties.It was love at first sight. When I was first looking I hestitated due to the lack of references & the open availability (meaning it wasn't a popular rental). But I found out when I arrived that it is a fairly new rental due to a death in the family.The owners & housekeeper were very nice & extremely helpful. Judy P, Boynton Beach, FL
Portole 2 is a lovely villa. beautifully decorated and maintained with everything you can ask for. The views from the property are spectacular and it is very remote. The pool is lovely but a bit of a climb up about 50 steps but its worth it for the view at the top. We were greeted at the villa with cakes and later on in the week we were given eggs, tomatoes and wine as a gift from the owner. A very peaceful getaway which is only a short, if very windy drive from Cortona. A car is essential here!! A lovely property in a superb location. Spotlessly clean too!!
