This property is one of two stylish barn conversions next to the owners house. It is simply but comfortably furnished for six people (except there was only seating in the lounge area for four). The building is cut into the hillside with the bedrooms downstairs. This no doubt keeps them nice and cool in summer, but when we were there they suffered from damp despite central heating. Castelnuovo has all amenities and is very central for the Garfanana region, but bear in mind the property is a quarter of a mile up a steep and narrow poorly surfaced lane, but by the same token has spectacular views of the mountaneous countryside around. We particularly liked the roofed terrace area at the rear of the property for sunbathing and al fresco meals. The log fire came in useful on cool October nights and Paulo kindly supplied logs for us.

"The castle was absolutely amazing. They have a bus stop out the front which will take you to Florence for 10 euro return in 50 mins. The dinner was fabulous, cooked by Fabio, it was personal, delicious and something to remember. The staff there are very friendly helpful and relaxed. The pool is lovely and as we stayed in the Cardinals rooms, our rooms were palatial"

We were very happy with the villa. Located close to the coop in town where you can find everything you need. The fireplace was amazing and we had the use of both the BBQ and authentic pizza oven (wood was provided)There is a very friendly dog "Molly" which you will either love or hate. She is always happy to see you and greats you every morning, however she barks at the deer and rabits all night long. We got use to it after awhile though. The only critisim I can come up with is there was abosulty no dish soap, laundry detergent, of even salt & pepper we had to supply literaly every expendable. I wonder were the stuff we left behind went?

I have leased property on three other occasions and can enthusiastically say that easyreserve is a CLASS ACT ! By far my best experience. Seamless, pleasant, helpful, inviting. Customer service is fantastic as was the property. I will heartily recommend easyreaserve to all my friends.

The property and the owner were way above what we expected. The villa was absolutely magnificent and was high on the side of the mountain with spectacular views. Clean and well managed. The owner was a very kind and extremely helpful man who could not do enough for us. We would definitely consider returning here.

As was said by a number of reviewers, the pictures as beautiful as they are, still can't capture how remarkable the villa is. The owner Rosado met us at the villa, provided not only a complete tour of the property, but also a guided tour of the village near by and made reservations for dinner for us that first night. The Tuscan dinner at the villa Rosado arranged later in the week was to die for! He also arranged extra mountain bikes and a guided day tour of the wine country. There were 4 couples and with all bedrooms having modern en-suite bathrooms was perfect. We will be returning! We rented 2 cars in Florence and made the easy 90 minute drive to the villa. With a GPS, driving in Italy is a breeze, without would have been very challenging. I bought the Italy maps for my Garmin before we left. Cheeper that renting it from the car agencies and I was sure it worked. Though none of us could speak much Italian, with a smile there was no problem communicating. Everyone we met was very friendly. Do yourself a favor and see Tuscany with your own car. Explore the hill top villages as well as the major sights then lounge by the pool with some local wine and cheese. My husband and I loved our stay at Borgo Tollena unit Signoria Vittoria. The accomodations were beautiful, very comfortable and most important, the people were very helpful, warm and friendly. A few days, we walked from the villa into San Gimignano, which we truly enjoyed. It was about a 30 minute walk and the views were gorgeous. We also recommend the dinner(s) at the property. They were delicious and we enjoyed the opportunity to talk to other people staying there. We would love to come back.

We rented this unit for ourselves and our nephew and niece who were traveling with us. We were looking for a comfortable space with adequate privacy, as well as convenience to local sites. This place was perfect.
First, the host and hostess, Luigi and Silvia, are delightful. They were friends by the end of our week. The farm is just two minutes from San Gimignano, and located conveniently for easy access to Volterra, Siena, Florence and beyond. The setting is great--vineyards and olive groves, a great patio, a pool (too cool to use while we were there, but lovely).
If you like cats the place is great, because there is a large family of kitties. They never got in the way.
Make sure you visit the wine shop in San Gimignano or Volterra that is run by Podere la Marronaia.

We stayed for one week at Le Rondini (Pogetto di Montese).
The initial impression is quite stunning as the property has an amazing picture postcard view of San Gimignano. The actual property is very typical Tuscan - not luxurious by any means but quite comfortable. The living room area is detached from the bedroom/kitchen and we found this quite inconvenient so did not really use it that much. The shower room is a bit cramped and a bit dim (could do with some new lighting).The owners were very friendly and if you stay here earlier in the year you can take advantage of the vegetable garden.The overall impression is one of tranquility and we loved the location but would have preferred something a little more modern.
