We stayed at La Miccia for 14 nights as the base for our Tuscan holiday. It was almost perfect in every way. Stylishly renovated, with a real eye to the history of the property, La Miccia is a delightfully peaceful retreat from the tourist scene of so much of Tuscany. After a hard day driving Tuscany and visiting one of its many stunning attractions, we sat in the ancient piazza outside our equally ancient apartment and sipped our apperetivi as the sun set. The only sound to break the silence being the occasional ringing of the church and the laughter of the village kids as they rampaged through the piazza. Look up the word ‘idyll’ in the dictionary and you’ll find a photo of Pergine Valdarno and La Miccia.
The property would be perfect by removing the incongruous hot tub (and replacing with a suitable chaise lounge perhaps) and by the addition of the property’s own wireless router and Wi-Fi internet environment – not being able to use our laptop to communicate with home was a disappointment (although the charms of Pergine Valdarno soon had us forgetting home and the kids!)
Utterly charming, comfortable and welcoming – it was a wrench to leave La Miccia. We are already planning our return.
Fabulous !!! This property is everything that you can imagine is Tuscany . The location is perfect for day trips to hill towns and larger cities. The owner is terrific and will cater to your every needs. The bedrooms are bright and spacious, and the outdoor kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals which we ate at the outdoor table. I can't think of one negative comment. The pictures on the website are true and the property is exactly as advertised. ENJOY !!
It is really very nice villa,completely separated from others,very private,the swimming pool is big enough to have fun,whole villa is in old italian style fully equipped,rooms are nice.Marek and familly
Our stay at Villa Fabbroni was one of the best vacations ever taken! The apartments are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is run by one of Tuscany's best chefs (Sergio) and the food is made with love, from fresh local ingredients. The grounds are very nice with plenty of solitude. Hiking trails abound. The hosts, Stefano and Sergio are some of the nicest and most accommodating innkeepers we've ever encountered. We highly recommend the Tuscan cooking class with Sergio and Stefano; it is not to be missed!
We highly recommend Villa Di Montelopio it is a wondefully maintained villa that dates back as far as the 12th century. Each day a new treasure unfolds as you learn more about the villa. The staff Maria, Sig. Dubi and Maria Palo are fantastic. They are on site to help with all of your needs. Maria's cooking is fantastic and provides an authentic taste experience in Tuscan cooking.Set on beautiful grounds the villa staff has a large garden, presses their own olive oil and makes their own wine. Montelopio is a quaint small village convenient to most Tuscan towns.The accomadations are outstanding and the staff alone provide a huge plus. Five out of five stars!!! We will be back.

Our group rated this property excellent in all categories. The owners were delightful people who tend their property beautifully, including the garden and the pool and they supervise the housecleaning with very good local workers. It was a real pleasure to be in such a beautiful house in that lovely natural setting with a well tended garden and pool. The nearby town of Monterchi had a restaurant and wine cantina and pottery store in the main plaza which was of especial interest to us with very kind, generous owners who cooked very well.

This is a wonderful custom property within the walls of Montalcino. Its location makes you feel like you are in the hills outside the city - plenty of quiet and greenery! Fabulous individual self-catering suite - with beautiful landscpaing and a great pool. Lisa and Andrea the managers are fantastic and take care of everything - even providing breakfast! We will definitely stay here again!
Our family of 4 loved our stay in Orfeo this September. A car is virtually essential to stay here, which we hadn't realised initially, although our host Pino generously offered to drive us to the supermarket when we arrived by taxi. He also made a couple of good restaurant suggestions on the nights we didn't cook and we particularly loved "Le Corte". Additionally, we needed a doctor appointment unexpectedly & Pino was extremely helpful. The property is secluded and quiet, offering a wonderful pool and beautiful gardens. Orfeo was well-equipped, everything worked and the beds were fabulous. Beware of the mosquitoes as not all windows or doors have screens. We enjoyed several daytrips, with Cinque Terre about 1 hour away & Pisa even closer. The village of Volterra was fabulous, and of course Lucca itself is sublime. We highly recommend this property & wish we could have stayed much longer than a week. Our only gripe is the extra payment for cleaning. We feel the price should be all-inclusive.
The views could not be better - a stunning series of mountains and ridges with farms in the lower foothills. We were delighted at all hours while sitting on our deck and looking over the panorama. The apt. was well furnished and appointed, obviously recently renovated. We would have liked screens in the windows or available mosquito netting to control the relatively few but persistent mosquitoes we were bothered by at night. Otherwise a complete delight.
