vinegar and some staples as buying for a week seems unnecessary. Would be a nice touch.
The villa itself was gorgeous and beautifully decorated. But the good points stop there. It is very difficult to find the property and when we tried to contact them for directions no one answered. Turns out they are only accessible by phone during certain 'working hours' so you're screwed if you need help outside of these. After our stay, we were given a bill for all the 'extras' - they charged us for local tax (which is fine), water, gas and internet...even though internet was meant to be free at this place?! The owners speak very little (if any) English so trying to ask questions and get any information was almost impossible. Also, the water pressure in the bath was very slow - we had to wait about 45 minutes to have a bath! The shower water pressure wasn't good either.
[counter comment from the house manager] these guests state that they found it difficult to contact / communicate with the owner, but on the travel voucher they also have our mobile phone number which is active on the Saturday afternoon. They could call us and we would have helped them to find the property.
Internet WI-FI is available at € 20, - / per week and not free.
As for the problem with the water unfortunatly they did not mention this to use during their stay. If the client had warned us we would have been able to take action and try to solve the problem.
Beautifully situated Tuscan getaway. Spacious apartment with lavish touches like a Jacuzzi and fireplace. The kitchen needs some more accessories but that's a minor detail. Wonderful.
I was one of 5 women that rented out Torre Del Cielo this May. The house was lovely and the landscape and views were magnificent. Durng our stay we had many special needs such as renting road bikes, train schedules, seeing the Giro tour and questions regarding the small towns around Tuscany. Rosado, the owner was more than generous with his time and knowledge of the area. He also made us two meals and took us on a lovely tour of an out of the way monastery that turned out to be one of the many highlights of our trip. I urge anyone considering renting a house in Tuscany to rent Torre Del Cielo. It was a wonderful vacation because we stayed there.
We enjoyed our time at Col di Forche. it is a lovely property, but the place is definitely quirky. The lights frequently dim for no reason, you must turn off one set of lights in the kitchen if you use the oven or a fuse will blow, the TV is in the kitchen, where there is no comfortable seating. Not sure why it isn't in the living room. Although a Fireplace was listed in the dining room, we were not allowed to use it or any of the other fireplaces and it was very cold in the house. The heat, which we used sparingly because it was so expensive, did not really warm the place up. A fire would have been great. I think it's probably a good place to go in the summer but not in the spring. Don't recommend the place if you have a bad back as the road to it, while very picturesque, is very bumpy. And its about a 10 minute ride up that road. The villa itself is beautiful and, as I said, probably fine in the warmer months.
very good place to live all the good sides of Tuscany. Quiet and clean. Very friendly owner. Near the historical cities, vineyards. Bucines is very beautiful town with all the services: grocery stores, train, restaurants. Very good place for a true rural Italian experience away from the tourist places. Perfect for a family or a couple of friends.
For over one year we've been planning a one month visit Italy and considered literally hundreds of places to stay while in Tuscany. After narrowing it down to a handful of possibilities, we decided on Casa di Vignolo and could not be happier with our choice. It was absolutely perfect. The small village of Pergine Valdarno is the perfect setting for those hoping to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and relax in the real Tuscany. The local townspeople speak little English but were without exception incredibly friendly and hospitable. The town has everything one needs for your stay, whether the local bakery, butcher shop, fruit and vegetable market, or grocery store or a pharmacy. As the villa sits on the main piazza in town, many hours were spent enjoying a glass of wine outside in the sun on our front porch or around the large kitchen table. The living room is comfortably furnished and the bedrooms also large and comfortable. Our landlords, the Gren family were the perfect hosts, giving us space but available if we had a question about anything. They offered a cooking class which we joined in and thoroughly enjoyed our class and dinner with their family. We sat around talking and laughing over dinner for two and a half hours and left feeling like we've met some good friends. A big thanks to Irene Gren for making us feel so at ease and comfortable during our week long stay. Without any hesitation, we wholeheartedly recommend Casa di Vignolo to you. We will certainly return here. Thank you easyreserve for making it easy for us to book this place.
Beautiful views on Tuscan landscape, perfect distance from San Gimignano, clean and well outfitted apartment, very nice pool (also for babies/ infants), welcome reception. We have no doubts recommending Borgo Tollena and would be happy to return ourselves if we have a chance!
